PHP-Palatine coordinates programs focused on reducing food insecurity through consistent, accessible, and community-based nourishment. Our food programs aim to support several communities, including families, students, and our unsheltered neighbors.

Provides shelf-stable food and easy-to-prepare meals to support students during the school day and over weekends, extending access beyond school hours.

A mobile food distribution program that brings fresh produce, pantry staples, and essential items directly into the community—reducing barriers and increasing access.

Delivers warm, nutritious meals to individuals experiencing housing instability at local shelter sites, supported by volunteers.

A seasonal grab-and-go program offering shelf-stable, easy-to-transport meals for unsheltered individuals when overnight shelters are not in session.

Essential Needs

Our Essential Needs programs focus on providing hygiene, personal care, and everyday essentials that promote dignity and stability. These programs mostly serve students in our community.

 A school-based program providing discreet access to hygiene products and food essentials through counselors and social workers across multiple locations.

Provides age-appropriate hygiene kits to elementary and junior high students, ensuring access to basic personal care items.

Discreet kits supplied to school nurses to support students during unexpected hygiene situations, helping them quickly return to their day with confidence.

Seasonal & Family Support

PHP-Palatine coordinates programs designed to bring stability, celebration, and dignity to families during key seasonal moments.

Spring/Easter Baskets:
Seasonal baskets filled with essentials, treats, and thoughtful items to bring joy and a sense of celebration to families.

Mother’s Day & Father’s Day Gifts: Providing children with meaningful gifts to celebrate and honor their parent or caregiver.

Thanksgiving Sides Kits:
Supplying families with all the ingredients needed to prepare a complete holiday meal—excluding the turkey.

Christmas Gift Drive & Sorting:
Organizing community donations into a store-like experience where families can select gifts, preserving dignity and choice.

Community Partnerships

Our Essential Needs programs focus on providing hygiene, personal care, and everyday essentials that promote dignity and stability. These programs mostly serve students in our community.

Provides essential menstrual and hygiene products to address period poverty, ensuring individuals have access to necessary care items with dignity.

Supports twice-monthly food distribution events through volunteer engagement and logistical support to serve families in need.

Redirects surplus baked goods to local organizations serving individuals in need, reducing waste while increasing food access.

Collects and redistributes donated candy to a wide network of partners, including healthcare workers, veterans, seniors, and shelters.

Provides cooking ingredients for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, supporting hands-on learning and independence.

Contributes prepared meal components to help ensure service members receive a complete Thanksgiving meal.

Supplies grab-and-go snacks such as granola bars, fruit snacks, and juice boxes to students attending summer school programs.

Offers structured volunteer opportunities for students and community members to earn service hours while supporting local initiatives.
