Comfort Closet

The Comfort Closet, a thoughtful program designed to ensure students in need have easy access to necessary essentials within their schools, facilitated by school counselors and social workers. PHP’s Comfort Closet will be supporting students at Academy North/Palatine High School, Fremd High School, and Rolling Meadows High School.

PADS Site Meals

Providing warm, nutritious meals to individuals experiencing housing instability through local shelter sites. These meals are served in a safe, welcoming environment and often supported by community volunteers, helping ensure consistent access to food while fostering dignity, connection, and care.

Wings Holiday Giving

Programs designed to bring stability, celebration, and dignity to families during key seasonal moments. This includes providing Spring/Easter Baskets, Mother’s & Father’s Day Gifts, Thanksgiving Sides Kits, and Christmas Gift Drives.

Deerfield's Donuts

Picking up everything Thursday, this program redirects surplus baked goods from the local Deerfield Bakery to local organizations serving individuals in need, reducing waste while increasing food access.

Accidents Happen Kits

A discreet, thoughtfully assembled kits designed to support students when unexpected personal hygiene needs arise during the day. Whether it’s a spill, a stain, or an unanticipated situation, these kits provide quick access to essentials so individuals can clean up, regroup, and return to their day with confidence and dignity.

Christmas Dinner & Gift Program (2020)

Provided holiday meals and gifts to seniors, veterans, and families during the pandemic.

Food for Families Program

Delivered monthly grocery support to families, helping address ongoing food insecurity.

Sundaes & Serenades

Celebrated older adults through music and social engagement during National Older Americans Month.

Pandemic Hot Meals Program

Supplied freshly prepared meals to vulnerable populations during COVID-19.

PADS Meal Kits (COVID Response)

Distributed shelf-stable meal kits when shelter services were temporarily unavailable.

Beverage Drive

Collected and distributed drinks to support summer meal programs and shelter partners.

Water Bottle Care Kits

Provided unsheltered individuals with reusable bottles filled with essential supplies.

CCSD15 School Supply Drive

Ensured classrooms had access to essential school supplies for students in need.

Birthday Party Kits (WINGS)

Enabled families to celebrate children’s birthdays with complete party kits.

Winter Coat Drive

Distributed new and gently used coats to individuals and families during colder months.

Hoodie Drive

Provided warm hooded sweatshirts to individuals experiencing hardship.

Windhaven Fire Victims Drive

Coordinated rapid-response donations to support families impacted by a residential fire.

Holiday Tiny Touches Program

Delivered small seasonal gifts and cards to seniors and veterans to foster connection and care.

Mother’s Day Corsage Initiative

Honored senior women with corsages to celebrate and recognize them on Mother’s Day.

Christmas Day Dinner and Gifts

On Christmas Day 2021, PHPP partnered with Cook, Cork & Fork and Love Local Chicago to prepare and deliver holiday meals to more than 200 individuals. In addition, the effort provided gifts to over 50 children, supporting unsheltered individuals and families, Section 8 senior citizens, and veterans.

Easter Baskets

During Easter 2021, PHPP provided 85 Easter baskets to unsheltered children who were temporarily housed in hotels during COVID-19 through Journey’s PADS Program.
